Pork cheeks with mulled wine and tomato
Ingredients

- 500 grams of pork cheeks
- 200 milliliters of mulled wine
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- cinnamon stick
- 300 milliliters of beef broth
- 1 cube of butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons of Elvea tomato paste or Elvea Pomo e legumi
- 1 clove garlic
- bouquet garni (bay leaf, thyme)
- 400 grams ELVEA Peeled Tomatoes

- salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons of water

Melt the butter in a large pan.

Season the pork cheeks with salt and pepper and brown them nicely in the pan.

Slice the onion and garlic into thin rings and add them. Lower the heat and let simmer. Season with pepper and salt.

Add the flour, cook for 1 minute. Add the tomato paste and brown sugar. Deglaze with the wine.

Add the broth, the bouquet garni, the cinnamon, and the pelati tomatoes. Let it simmer on low heat until the meat is tender. Depending on the quality, this will take about 90 minutes. Mix the cornstarch with the water and add it to the sauce at the end to thicken your sauce a bit more.
